Should The Times Be a Truth Vigilante? | The Public Editor - NYTimes.com
Oh please, just get over yourself already. When a news-maker or politician says something that contradicts objective fact, point it out in the story. And when an uneducated schmuck contradicts a trained expert, don’t present the two arguments as equally valid, because they just aren’t.
And enough already with the “objective” BS. Your writers and your editors - just like all other human beings - have opinions. And like it or not, those opinions will inevitably be reflected in the way they use the language, the stories they choose to cover, and how they lay out the newspaper. Expecting me to believe otherwise is to treat me as a fool.
Own up to your bias, for god’s sake and leave the rest to me. I don’t care if you have an opinion - I just get pissed when you try to convince me that you somehow don’t, when I can obviously see otherwise.
