Here’s a quick update shot yesterday outside the town of Puerto Toledo, in the municipality of Puerto Rico, Meta, Colombia. We hitched a helicopter ride with the Army (video of that is uploading now), and they left us on the edge of town, from where we walked in and interviewed a group of leaders of this and nearby communities.
Here, I’m talking to the camera in the site just outside town where the helicopter was about to pick us up. Yes, I sweat like a big sweaty gringo. And I don’t know what the soldier behind me is doing with his pistol.
You know, it’s pretty cool that we have at least one real grown-up in the gang now.
