tbridge replied to your post: 99% or 1%, it’s all blood money. Yeah, because comments like this don’t make you an asshole or anything. This country’s wealth was built on the back of slaves. Our aboriginals were pushed to the edge of extinction and starved out of their ancestral homes. Our forefathers stripped every last ounce of mineral and biological wealth out of the land with...

99% or 1%, it's all blood money.
Don’t just politely ask them to share with you - disrupt the whole fucking apple cart. They stole the money in the first place.

American McCarver: A Night You Won't Forget →
Three minutes later, just after the result from Baltimore had been posted on the scoreboard at Tropicana Field, in the bottom of the 12th inning,Evan Longoria hit a low, screaming liner into the left-field corner that cleared the fences by a few inches. Maybe the most stunning few inches… I heard a few comments here and there about how it’s just a game, how it’s just a bunch...

One thing I really hate...
Is how some people have no concept for what food actually is. What it means to plant a seed in the cool of spring, and devote months of labor to see a crop through to harvest. To raise up a baby calf, and then to slaughter and butcher it for dinner. To see life played out in blood and dirt, so that they might form an appreciation for what food actually means, and how the world works outside of...

Mark Zuckerberg, Sweet, Sweet Mark Zuckerberg,... →
He started out by slaughtering a pig, goat and chicken. Now the Silicon Valley billionaire has expanded his menu. Zuckerberg has learned to hunt, according to people close to him. He got a hunting license and recently shot and killed a bison. For fuck’s sake, I admire him for at least having the heart and soul to find out what eating a hamburger actually means, Newsweek. At least he...

“All that stuff, what’s difficult about praise is that when you get into this,...”
–  Ryan Gosling talks too much. But I think he’s gonna be OK. I’m having genuine Clooney-level man love feelings over here. (via weselec) Reblogging this for myself, ‘cause it’s something I keep forgetting.

Another GOP debate, another spiteful, angry crowd.
This time they booed a soldier who had recently pulled time in Iraq. Because he was gay. Last time, they applauded the death of a hypothetical 30 year old man who was too poor to afford health insurance. Before that, they applauded Rick Perry for killing 234 inmates. I can’t even imagine that level of hate and vitriol. I’m sick to death of ugly.

Sigh.
Sometimes you have to wonder if it’s worth it. If it’s worth bothering trying to change a system that glorifies and rewards our worst impulses. A system that consistently rewards greed and anger and hate, and spits at those who would inspire us to be better. It’s enough to make me think about quitting. If America was a job, I’d probably submit my resignation letter this...

“The central irony of financial crises is that they’re caused by too much borrowing, too much confidence and too much spending and they’re solved by more confidence, more borrowing and more spending,” he said. But “people see economic issues through moral frames and people think there’s an extent to which recessions are punishment for sins — mainly sins of excess — and you don’t expiate sins by...

Indict people. There are certain people in American finance who haven’t been held responsible for utterly ruining the economic fabric of our country. Demand from the attorney general a clear status of the state of investigation concerning these extraordinary injustices imposed upon the American people. I know Attorney General Eric Holder is a close friend of yours, but if his explanations...
